Compared to last week, reported forage prices steady.
Demand was light to instances moderate.
Some hay going to out of state feedlots in bales or as ground and delivered
product.
Quite a few forage producers are holding hay over into the new crop
year due to the dryness in the area.
Also, they are hoping to increase the price per ton they are selling there hay.
Per NASS, for week ending April 19, corn planted is at 8% a little ahead
of the five year average of 5% planted.
Soybeans come in at 2% planted and it's a little ahead of normal plantings.
Oats planted is at 72% compared to average plantings at 66%.
Winter wheat is rated 40 % poor to very poor with only 29% rated as good.
All sales FOB the stack or hay yard unless otherwise noted.
